Alpha Platforms just added another 230-foot aerial work platform to service professionals of various trades throughout the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. With the arrival of this great machine, we’ll be able to offer our clients more flexibility and a shorter lead time.

The Municipal Archives building is one of the most beautiful examples of Beaux Art in NYC. Built over a hundred years ago, it required some roof repair. Instead of putting a pipe scaffold around the entire block, the contractor hired Alpha Platforms’ 230-foot lift. Inspection of the roof on all four sides of the building and replacement of all broken tiles and gutters took just 10 days instead of 2–3 months, and saved New York’s taxpayers over $200,000.

Alpha Platforms’ 165- and 230-foot lifts are working on installing decorative lighting around terracotta details of a building façade and mansard roof. Another famous Beaux Arts style NYC building, the iconic Knickerbocker Hotel built in 1906 in New York’s Times Square is returning to its original glory. Alpha Platforms provided four lifts and full traffic management, allowing the contractor to complete the project in less than 20 days, just in time for the grand opening.

Alpha Platforms’ 230-foot lift was hired for the installation of decorative metal panels on the side of a building. The Power Lift system was used to lift 20’–24′ pieces of decorative wall to the designated location. A team of two installers working from a stable 12-foot cage of the lift finished the installation in four days. Our IPAF-certified operator and traffic management team made another extraordinary project a grand success.

As the billion-dollar reconstruction of the Jacob K. Javits Center was completed, Big Apple window cleaning was hired to provide a post-construction glass cleaning and give back the stunning glass structure its sparkle. Alpha platforms provided a 165-foot spider lift capable of going through the double doors inside the building and providing access to some of the most challenging elevations.

Alpha Platforms was hired by one of New York’s leading architectural firms to provide access to its engineers to inspect the façades of the US District Court in downtown Manhattan. A 230-foot platform was deployed for the task and the entire project was completed in just three days instead of three weeks if done with scaffolding. The job was completed without interrupting street traffic or court activities, and with substantial savings in the city’s budget.

A 165-foot spider lift was deployed to facilitate the caulking and waterproofing of two lines of windows between the 13th and 7th floors of the building.

Instead of erecting temporary scaffolding on the roof of the building and putting a pedestrian bridge on the busy West Side Highway in NYC, the building management hired Alpha Platforms. Our 230-foot lift provided a safe and stable work environment to service specialists and waterproofing engineers. The entire project took just four days. Our traffic management team obtained all permits and provided full traffic management during the project.

Alpha Platforms was hired by a local sign installation company as traditional lifts were unable to reach the desired height due to hospital yard weight restrictions and numerous trees surrounding the building. The A-200 truck-mounted platform was parked in a parking lane on a busy street and reached the desired area (about 95′ side reach) without problem. The entire work was completed in six hours.

Everything is relevant in this life. Our huge 80,000-lb 230-foot high aerial work platform is caught on camera while passing by Cunard’s mighty Queen Mary II.

What does it take to surprise a real New Yorker? Well, getting three men flying over you while you are sunbathing on the roof of your 20-story building… This is quite surprising, even by New Yorkers’ standards.

An engineering company hired Alpha Platforms for concrete cutting and brickwork at 185 feet. Our 230-foot lift was deployed to access all elevations that needed repair instead of using a pipe scaffold, which would obstruct the beautiful views of Midtown Manhattan and the Hudson River for hotel guests. The hotel saved a couple hundred thousand dollars from loss of guests and business.

As New York City enters the next building inspection cycle, Alpha Platforms’ truck-mounted lifts have quickly become a time-, hassle-, and money-saving alternative to rigging a building with scaffolding for inspection, waterproofing, or façade repair work. With our lifts, in most cases, a building’s inspection takes just one day or less.

  • No CD-5 filing with DOB
